Creating a Diary Event
This option is used to create an event for a location that has not been created in the Scheduling application.
Click on the 'Create' button.
If there is more than one type of event that can be allocated to an event, the Choose Type window will be displayed.
Select the required event type and click on the ‘Next’ button, the Choose Location window will now be displayed.
If there is only one event type, the Choose Location window will be displayed immediately.
Type in the SIN number, name or partial name of the location and click on the ‘Search’ button.
A list of locations that match the data input will now be displayed.
Select the correct location by clicking on it and then click on the ‘Next’ button.
The application will now display the Choose Post window.
Select the contract required from the drop down list. Select the post required by clicking on it and then click the ‘Next’ button.
The Change Times window will now be displayed to allow the operator to change the event times if required.
If you need to change the event times, select User Specified Times by clicking on the button to the left of the description and then enter the event times in the boxes provided. Click on the ‘Next’ button.

The Choose Employee window will now be displayed.
Type in the employee’s PIN and click on the ‘Lookup PIN’ button or use the active search function to select the employee.
Once the correct employee is highlighted, click on the ‘Next’ button.
The Save Events window will now be displayed.
Save and Confirm
This window displays the details of the event to be added, if the details are incorrect click on the Close button and start again.
In this window you can select the reason for adding an event from the pick list in the bottom left of the window.
You can also add a comment to the event if required to provide more information about why the event is required.
Once you have completed all steps, click on the Save button.
The application will now validate the employee against the event and will report any conflicts that are identified.
If any of the entries displayed are in red they cannot be overridden.
In this case you must click on the Close button and resolve the issues identified and try again.
The entries displayed in amber are advisory messages only and can be overridden.
If you are satisfied that the warnings identified are acceptable, click on the Save button and the event will be created.
Any calls that may be due for the new event, will be displayed the next time that the Work Monitor window in refreshed.
If you are unable to accept one or more of the warning messages, click on the ‘Close’ button, resolve any issues where applicable and try again.
